Stock market update: Sensex, Nifty end in green on last trading day of the week
Today, on the last trading day of the week i.e. Friday (22 December, 2023), there was a rise in the stock market. Sensex closed at 71,106 with a rise of 241 points. At the same time, Nifty also rose by 94 points. It closed at the level of 21,349. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 saw a rise and 10 saw a fall. The fastest growth was seen in IT and realty sectors.
LIC shares made 52 week high
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) saw a jump of about 7% in early trade and the share reached an all-time high of Rs 821. The company’s shares rose 7.39% on Friday to hit an intraday high of Rs 821, a 52-week high. However, the stock later moved lower and closed at Rs 792.20 with a rise of 3.62%.
IPO of Azad Engineering Limited
Today was the last day of investment in the IPO of Azad Engineering Limited. This issue was opened on 20 December. The price band of the IPO is ₹499-₹524. The company has brought this IPO to raise ₹740 crore. Azad Engineering Limited is a manufacturer of aerospace components and turbines.
Stock market closed with gains yesterday
Earlier, yesterday i.e. Thursday (21st December), there was a rise in the stock market. The Sensex closed at 70,865 with a gain of 358 points. At the same time, Nifty also rose by 104 points. It closed at the level of 21,255. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 saw a rise and 9 saw a fall. There was a rise in power, banking and metal shares.
