Uttarakhand weather update: Fog alert for plain districts of the state
Cold has increased in many cities of Uttarakhand. Light fog is also occurring in some areas at night. However, due to sunshine during the day the temperature is remaining normal. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of dense fog in US Nagar and Haridwar on Monday and Tuesday. Light rainfall along with snowfall may occur at higher altitudes.
People have been appealed to drive their vehicles carefully. On Sunday, the minimum temperature in Dehradun, Pantnagar, Mukteshwar, New Tehri and many other cities was recorded one to three degrees Celsius below normal, which has dropped by one to two degrees Celsius within the last one or two days.
However, due to sunshine during the day, the maximum temperature was recorded as normal. Meteorological Director Dr. Bikram Singh says that the weather is dry right now. There is no hope of rain yet. On December 12, there is a possibility of light drizzle along with cloud cover at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh. There will be more fog in the plains. Temperatures will remain normal in the state.
