CM Dhami approves increase in dearness allowance of state government employees

There is good news for 3.25 lakh government employees and pensioners of Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami approved the file for increase in DA of the employees.

The administration has also approved the increased the rates of Dearness Allowance (DA) of state employees, pensioners and family pensioners by four percent.

Additional Secretary Finance Ganga Prasad issued orders in this regard. Under the order issued, state employees taking the seventh pay scale, regular and full-time employees of aided educational and technical teacher institutions and urban local bodies, work charged employees and post holders working in UGC pay scales will get the benefit of DA increase.

At present the employees are getting 42 percent DA. With the new addition of four percent, DA will increase to 46 percent. The DA increase will add an additional financial burden of approximately Rs 500 crore annually on the government exchequer.

The central government is also expected to take a decision soon on the DA installment increasing in January 2024.
