Ind vs Eng Test series: Jadeja and Rahul out due to injury

Team India has suffered two major setbacks before the second Test match against England starting on February 2. Left arm spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and batsman KL Rahul are out due to injury. The selectors have decided to include Saurabh Kumar, Sarfaraz Khan and Washington Sundar in the squad. India had to face defeat by 28 runs in the first match of the five-match series. Jadeja and Rahul got injured during this match.

Jadeja felt a strain in his hamstring on the fourth day of the first Test in Hyderabad. His reports are yet to come after getting the leg scanned. At the same time, KL Rahul is complaining of pain in his thigh. For this reason he has also been rested in the second test.

Ravindra Jadeja was run out by a direct hit from English captain Ben Stokes on the fourth day of the Hyderabad Test. He faced difficulties in walking while returning to the pavilion. After the match was over, Jadeja got his leg scanned in Hyderabad itself.

Jadeja’s scan report has been sent to Mumbai Institute, where scan reports of all the players are sent. Only after the report comes, it will be confirmed whether Jadeja will be out of one test or the entire series.

Kuldeep may replace Jadeja


In place of Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav may also get a place in the playing-11 of the second test. Kuldeep is the fourth spinner included in the squad, he was not included in the playing-11 of the first Test. In the first test, the team gave a chance to Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin as spinners along with Jadeja.

England lead the series 1-0 after defeating India in the first Test in Hyderabad.
