Jannik Sinner entered the Australian Open 2024 final in spectacular style by defeated title favorite Novak Djokovic in the semis. In the final he faced Daniil Medvedev. An exciting match was seen between the two players. Sinner’s start was not good, he fell behind by two sets. But he made a strong comeback and gave a crushing defeat to Medvedev. He won his maiden Grand Slam title by defeating Daniil Medvedev 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 in the Australian Open final on Sunday.

Sinner surprised everyone with his performance in the semi-final match. He made a big upset by defeating 10 time winner Novak Djokovic in 4 sets. Now he is the first Italian player to win the Australian Open title. Medvedev had won the title in the US Open in the year 2021. But this is his fifth defeat in Grand Slam final.

Despite making it to the finals thrice in the Australian Open, Medvedev could not win the title. He lost to Djokovic in 2021 and Rafael Nadal in 2022. Even against Nadal, he could not maintain his lead after winning the first two sets. This time Medvedev won three matches of five sets each to reach the title match. In two of these matches, he made a strong comeback after falling behind in the first two sets.
