Ranji trophy 2024: Uttarakhand-MP match ends in draw

The Ranji match played between Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh ended in a draw. Madhya Pradesh got full points on the basis of first innings lead. This was the first match of Ranji trophy season 2024 for both the teams.

Ranji match was played between Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Dehradun. By the end of the last day’s play on Monday, Uttarakhand scored 266 runs losing eight wickets in the second innings and the match was drawn. Madhya Pradesh had scored 323 runs in the first innings. Whereas Uttarakhand team was all out for 192 in the first innings. MP maintained the lead from the first innings. In the second innings, MP declared the innings after losing three wickets for 243 runs and set Uttarakhand a target of 375 runs to win the match. Saransh Jain scored a century in the first innings for Madhya Pradesh, while Venkatesh Iyer contributed 89 runs. In the second innings, Yash Dubey scored 59 runs, Shubham Sharma scored 86 runs and Venkatesh Iyer scored unbeaten 53 runs for Madhya Pradesh. In the second innings, PS Khanduri contributed the maximum 62 runs, he was supported by skipper Aditya Tare’s 51.  Kunal Chandela 50 and Swapnil Singh 40 runs also scored crucial runs for Uttarakhand.
