Uttarakhand Assembly session from Feb 5

Preparations for the assembly session starting from February 5 have been completed. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee on Sunday. House business will be decided in the meeting. Along with the business advisory meeting, the Speaker will also hold a meeting with the leaders of the legislature party.

In this meeting, she will appeal for cooperation from the leaders of all parties to conduct the proceedings of the House in a peaceful and cordial manner. The session is likely to continue till February 8. Leader of House Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Aggarwal, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, Legislative Assembly members Pritam Singh, Mohammad Shahzad, Khazandas and Umesh Sharma Kau will attend the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee.

The meeting will take place from 11.30 am. According to sources on February 6, two bills of Uniform Civil Code and horizontal reservation of state agitators will be presented.

On Sunday itself, the ruling party and the opposition will strategize their respective issues to be raised during the session. The meeting of the BJP MLA Mandal Party will be held at 5 pm at the Mukhya Sewak Sadan located at the CM residence. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Aggarwal has requested all the members to attend the meeting. In this meeting, along with BJP MLAs, State President Mahendra Bhatt, State General Secretary Organization Ajay Kumar, other State General Secretaries of the party can also be present. In the meeting, BJP will especially make a strategy regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill.

Opposition will make strategy on UCC, senior leaders will also be invited

Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya has called a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party at his official residence on Sunday evening. In the meeting, a special strategy will be made regarding the Uniform Civil Code Bill being brought by the Dhami government. To brainstorm on this, Arya invited all the senior leaders including former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, former Cabinet Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, former State President Ganesh Godiyal, Heera Singh Bisht, Nav Prabhat, Minister Prasad Naithani, Dinesh Aggarwal, Surendra Singh Negi. Apart from UCC, the opposition will highlight many other issues including land law, law and order in the meeting.
