India vs Bangladesh: India wins first Test by 280 runs

The Indian team defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs in the first Test of the two-match Test series. In this way, India registered the biggest win against Bangladesh in terms of runs. Team India also created history by winning the Chennai Test.

For the first time in 92 years of history, India has set a record of winning more matches than losing in Test cricket. Rohit brigade broke the streak of 580 matches. Team India has now won more matches than they have lost in Tests.

India had set a target of 515 runs for Bangladesh to win in the first Test match played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

India scored 376 runs in the first innings. In response, Bangladesh team was all out for 149 runs in the first innings. India declared the second innings at 287 runs. In response, Bangladesh team could score only 234 runs.

Chasing 515 runs, Bangladesh had scored 205 runs for the loss of 5 wickets at one stage, but Ashwin whose century in the first innings took India to a strong position in the first innings, took 6 wickets in the second innings and brought the match in India’s favour.

Historic win for team India

In this way, India won the Chennai Test by 280 runs. For the first time in its 92-year Test history, India has made a record of winning more Test matches than losing.

Since 1932, India has played a total of 580 Test matches, in which it has won 179 Test matches, while it has faced defeat in 178 Test matches. 222 matches have been drawn and one match was tied. In this way, for the first time in India’s 92-year Test history, it has won more Test matches than it has lost. This is India’s sixth consecutive Test win against Bangladesh.
