Cleaner dies after being hit by a roadways bus in Almora

A tragic accident took place at the interstate bus station on Lower Mall Road, Almora. Where a sanitation worker died after being crushed by a roadways bus. After the accident, the driver left the bus and fled from the spot. At the same time, the police, who reached the spot after getting the information, have taken the body of the deceased worker into custody and started investigation. Along with this, they have also started searching for the absconding driver. On the other hand, there is an uproar in the family of the deceased after getting the information about the accident.

According to the information, today i.e. on July 18, the bus number UK 07 TA 4449 of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation was going from Delhi to Bageshwar which reached Almora on time. However, soon after reaching, it developed a technical snag. Due to which the bus stopped on Mall Road. Help was sought from Almora workshop to fix it. On which a technical employee was sent.

The technical employee fixed the bus after sometime after which the driver of Bageshwar depot, left to take the bus to the workshop of ISBT Almora. While taking it to the workshop, the bus collided with the ISBT gate and stopped. After that, an attempt was made to take it inside the depot somehow. Then the bus lost its control and started moving rapidly towards the slope.

The bus hit three buses parked in the depot for cleaning. The sound of which was heard far away. The collision was so terrible that Vikas alias Vicky, who was cleaning the buses behind a bus, came under the tyre of that bus, due to which he died on the spot.

Police officer, who reached the spot, said that the employee was hit by the bus, due to which he died. The matter is being investigated. A case will be registered against the accused and legal action will be taken.
