The meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in Bageshwar & Dehradun districts today,
Heavy rains have stopped in most parts of the state. However, heavy showers are continuing in Dehradun and surrounding areas. Rains have been continuing in Haldwani since late Tuesday night. Due to which there was relief from humidity and the weather has become pleasant.
According to the Director of Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, even today most of the areas in the state may remain partially cloudy.
An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains with lightning in Bageshwar. Whereas, Dehradun, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Champawat may also witness one or two rounds of heavy rain with thunder and lightning.
Heavy rains occurred in many areas
Heavy rains occurred in many areas of Doon on Tuesday morning amid partial clouds. However, after some time the sky started clearing and the sun started shining. The sun and clouds kept playing hide and seek throughout the day. At around 5 pm, most areas of the city were covered with thick clouds and showers started with strong winds.
It rained heavily for about an hour. Due to which the mercury dropped and the weather became pleasant. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be one or two rounds of heavy rain in Doon even today. There are chances of showers with thunder and lightning in the surrounding areas.
