District wise classification of zones to end in Uttarakhand

Focus on containment zone

The state government will no longer divide the districts into Red, Orange and Green zones from the point of view of Corona. Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh announced this. He said that to stop the spread of corona, the entire focus of the government will now be on the Containment Zone.

Strictness will be increased in the Containment Zone. Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh held a press conference at the Secretariat on Monday. He said that according to the new guidelines of the Central Government, the system of determining zones in the districts has been abolished.

Now from the point of view of Corona, no district will be in the Red Zone and neither Green or Orange. He told that now instead of dividing the districts into zones, the focus will be on the Containment Zone and there will be strictness.

Dehradun district has got a lot of relief from this decision of the government

Because according to the standards, Dehradun district was on the verge of reaching the Red category. The Chief Secretary said that the government is focusing exclusively on the Containment Zone.

Now containment zones will be marked upon finding corona infected patients and district administration will take strict actions in such areas so that the transition cannot not reach the other person. People will not be allowed to travel in these areas.

The Chief Secretary informed that there are currently 55 containment zones in the state. If needed, their number will be increased. He said, the Health Department and the district administration determine the containment zone in view of the spread of the virus.

Twenty thousand beds and 126 ventilators available in the state

The Chief Secretary said that the Corona cases have increased in the state in the past, but there is no need to fear it. The government has greatly increased its health facilities.

More than 20 thousand beds are available for Corona patients. Also, 243 ICU beds and 126 ventilators are also available. Currently there are around 1.30 lakh people in quarantine in the state. Most of these are in home quarantine.

Nainital out of red zone

Nainital District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that the district Nainital has been removed from the Red Zone, eliminating the system of fixing the zone as per the guidelines of the Central Government and the Uttarakhand Government. Now the market will be opened in the district from 07 am to 07 pm and all types of public transport in the district will be permitted with 50 percent capacity as per the guidelines.

The District Magistrate said that according to the order received by the Chief Secretary, hotels, restaurants and religious places in the district Nainital have been opened as per the guidelines issued by the government. State Disaster Management Authority has issued a guideline to open all hotels, service areas, restaurants, shopping malls, religious places and places of worship as per the guidelines of the Center.

Thermal scanning, sanitization essential

He said that, thermal scanning, sanitization should be done compulsorily in all commercial establishments, staff and customers should all wear masks. Gym, bars, cinemas, coaching centers, amusement parks, schools and educational institutions will be completely closed in the district.
