Valley of Flowers opened for summer season 2020

The Valley of World Heritage Flowers has been opened today from June 1. DFO Kishan Chandra of Nanda Devi National Park told that the valley has been opened. Currently, the movement of tourists in the valley is not allowed due to the lockdown. Tourists will be allowed to visit only after instructions from higher officials.

Flowers have started blooming in the World Heritage Valley of Flowers. After removing snow for about two kilometers of the Valley of Flowers, the trek from Nanda Devi National Park Administration was opened for movement.

One of the seven-member team of Nanda Devi National Park, who arrived in Joshimath after inspecting the valley, Dinesh Lal, a forest officer, told that the flowers have started blooming after the snow melted in the lower part of the valley. Here the high Himalayan peaks are covered with snow and there are rows of flowers in the foothills of the valley.

However, only the flowers of anemone and primula species have bloomed. The months of July, August and September are considered best for visiting the Valley of Flowers. Brahmakamal also blooms here in September.
