India rises 11 spots on global network readiness Index 2024

India has taken a long leap in terms of technology and innovation. According to the Network Readiness Index 2024 report, India’s ranking has seen a jump of 11 places. In such a situation, India’s ranking has now become 49th. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Minister has posted a post on social media on Saturday, according to which India’s ranking has improved at the global level. This ranking has been released by the Washington DC-based Portulans Institute. According to the minister, this ranking shows the enhanced governance, citizen engagement and overall impact of the government.
India’s global ranking improved
According to the minister, India’s ranking used to be 60 in the year 2023, at that time the score was 49.93. In such a situation, India has achieved 49th rank in the year 2024 with an improvement of 11 places. During this time India’s score has been 53.63. He said that this reflects India’s digital infrastructure.
Improvement in mobile internet ranking
Mobile internet and broadband ranking has improved in India in the last few years. Along with this, India has rapidly started 4G service and rolled out 5G service in the country. Apart from this, the government has set a target of providing internet to every village through air fiber along with optical fiber. This scheme of the government is known as BharatNet.
Government’s focus towards AI
The government has taken a step towards artificial intelligence. Indigenous technology based 4G and 5G services are being rolled out in the country. Most of the government schemes are being made available through digital mode. Also, every work from medical to other things is being done through digital mode.
UPI payment gains tremendous momentum
India has done amazing innovation in the matter of online payment. UPI system was launched by the country’s National Payment Corporation of India i.e. NPCI. On which online payment options like PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm are based.
