Pithoragarh: The Naini Saini airstrip at Pithoragarh has now been upgraded, the length of the runway has been increased from 1500 meters to 1630 meters while the width increased from 40 meters to 60 meters. The upgraded runway is now capable of handling a 40 seater plane. This should help boost the tourism sector in the region. The cost of the upgradation works was around 57 crores. The state government has written to the aviation ministry to allow regular flow of flights to the region. In addition to upgrading the runway hangars for helicopters and planes have also been constructed. The locals are hopeful that 40 seater airplanes will be a regular site at the Naini Saini airport by the end of this year.

The common man of Uttrakhand expects from all MLA's and MP's of Uttrakhand that they should come above the party line for achievement of common goals and development of the State. I request to all 05 MP's (BJP) from the State to pressurise the Civil Aviation Ministry and the PMO to allow to start the operation of daily Flights to Naini Saini Airport without loss of time.
