“Terrorism biggest threat to humanity” PM Modi at G20 summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said during the informal meeting of BRICS leaders at G20 summit,that terrorism is the biggest threat to humanity, which not only kills innocent people, but also affects economic development and social stability badly. In Osaka city of Japan, Prime Minister Modi stressed the need to stop supporting terrorism and racism by any means.
He said that terrorism is the biggest threat to humanity. It not only kills innocent people but also affects economic development and social stability badly. PM Modi emphasized the need to strengthen the World Trade Organization (WTO), fight protectionism, ensure energy security and together fight terrorism.
He said that today, “I will focus my attention on three major challenges. First- instability and decline in global economy. There is the effect of unilateralism and competitiveness on the rule-based multilateral global business system. The lack of resources, the lack of investment in the infrastructure sector is about 1.3 trillion US dollars.”
The Prime Minister said that “the second – making the development sustainable and inclusive. Rapidly changing techniques like digitalization and climate change present challenges for existing and future generations. He said that development is only meaningful when it reduces inequality and contributes to empowerment.”
Prime Minister Modi has reached Osaka in Japan to participate in the G-20 Summit. He congratulated Jair Bolsonaro, newly elected President of Brazil and welcomed him in the BRICS family.
During the meeting of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) leaders of the G-20 summit in Osaka, he also congratulated Cyril Ramaphosa on being elected President of South Africa.
