Relief efforts follow fire devastation in Salra village

After extinguishing the fire in the fire-affected Salra village, the administration has immediately distributed necessary assistance and relief material to the affected people. Sub Divisional Magistrate Purola Devanand Sharma distributed relief money to the villagers.

The fire that broke out in Salra village of Mori block has been controlled. In this regard, according to the report sent by Tehsildar Mori to the District Magistrate, yesterday at 11 am, information was received about fire due to short circuit in a residential house in village Salra Tehsil Mori.

Tehsildar has said in his report that due to the spread of fire, 10 residential houses have been completely damaged and 04 residential houses have been partially damaged.

The fire has been controlled by the villagers. While extinguishing the fire, 06 people got burnt and injured. Out of which one person, has been sent to Community Health Center Mori for first aid. Other injured are still undergoing treatment in the village itself. There has been no other loss of life or animals.

Tehsildar Mori, Revenue Sub Inspector Mori, along with the team of fire brigade, SDRF, police, forest department and animal department were present in village Salra village. For immediate relief assistance, Rs 5000 per family, 01 tarpaulin and 2 blankets each have been sent to village Salra for immediate relief assistance to 22 families affected in this incident.

Uttarkashi District Magistrate Dr. Meharban Singh Bisht, while sending Sub Divisional Magistrate Purola Devanand Sharma to Salra village, has instructed to make arrangements for accommodation, food and treatment of the affected people and also to immediately distribute the assistance amount to all the affected people. On receiving information about the fire in Salra village, the administration immediately sent relief and rescue teams to the village. The administration had also requested the Air Force to keep helicopters ready in case of need for fire fighting and rescue operations in Salra village.
