Chicago Snow storm: Hundreds of flights cancelled
The southern state of America is in the grip of icy storms and heavy rains. More than 690 flights were canceled from O’Hare International Airport, 169 from Midway International Airport, and 130 from St. Louis’s Lambert International Airport. At the same time, all flights were suspended from Columbia Regional Airport in Missouri until Saturday afternoon. 90 million people are affected due to hurricanes and bad weather.
According to the report, about 470 flights to Chicago were delayed due to bad weather. A severe storm hit Chicago on Friday afternoon. The Meteorological Department issued a warning of worsening of road conditions due to snowfall. Many areas of Salt Lake City have accumulated up to 5 inches of snow. For this reason schools, universities and government offices have been closed.
Fear of worsening weather
Delta Airlines spokeswoman Martha Witt said the Airbus A319 slipped at the Kansas City International Airport on Friday, although no one was injured. The flight carried 129 people, including six crew members. Passengers were transported by other aircraft. The Meteorological Department said that the storm is expected to become more dangerous in the coming days. This will make it difficult to travel from the plains towards the northeastern areas on weekends.
