France records over 2 lakh corona cases for fourth consecutive day
The global pandemic Corona situation has once again become dire. These days the most havoc of corona infection is being seen in France. For the last four days, more than 2 lakh new corona patients are reported in France every day. In the last 24 hours, 219126 new cases of corona infection have been reported in France. Not only this, the Omicron variant of the corona virus is also spreading rapidly in France. Of the new cases of corona, 62% are linked to Omicron variants.
The Omicron variant is spreading rapidly in many European countries, including the UK and Portugal. Because of this restrictions have to be imposed here. People are constantly being appealed to follow the Corona guidelines. Given the seriousness of the situation, French President Emmanuel Macron has said that the coming few weeks are going to be very difficult, because new cases may increase.
France has now joined the list of countries like America, India, Brazil, Britain and Russia in terms of large corona infection numbers where more than 10 million infection cases have been registered.
In Britain, a record 162572 cases were found in a single day on Saturday and 154 people died. A day earlier, 178 people had lost their lives. At the same time, 141,262 cases of corona were reported in Italy on Saturday, while 111 people died due to the pandemic. A day earlier on Friday, Italy had registered 144,243 cases while 155 people died. So far 137513 people have died due to the pandemic in Italy.
Expressing concern over the growing threat from Corona, especially Omicron, World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has emphasized equality between countries in vaccination and other means to end the corona pandemic.
