US imposes 104 percent tariff on China

The trade tension between the USA and China is increasing. While US President Donald Trump is strict about tariffs, China has also become aggressive against it. In this trade war, the US announced a 104 percent tariff on China on Tuesday. This decision of the Trump administration has created an uproar in the world’s business world. This trade war has shaken the global markets.

The US has made it clear that now a 104 percent tariff will be imposed on goods coming from China. This decision is going to be implemented from today (April 9) itself. This is considered to be the harshest step so far in the ongoing trade war between the two countries.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the media after the decision to impose tariffs on China. During this, she emphasized that it was a mistake for China to retaliate against the US. She said that when America is challenged, the answer is strong and firm.

Leavitt said, ‘When America is attacked, it retaliates even more strongly. That is why 104 percent tariffs will be imposed on China from tonight. If China comes forward to make a deal, it will be very generous.’

Leavitt said that the new tariffs are part of the ongoing effort by the Trump administration to eliminate unfair trade practices. These have led to the loss of jobs and economic pressure on American workers.

Karoline Leavitt further said that President Trump will no longer allow American workers and companies to be cheated due to foolish trade practices. These take away millions of high-paying jobs and hollow out communities across the country.

The United States of America imposed a tariff of 34 percent on China. In response, China imposed a tariff of 34 percent. Then America threatened to impose a 50 percent tariff hike on top of the already existing tariffs on China. China ignored this threat, after which the Trump administration announced a 104 percent tariff on China.
