Shawshank redemption to be re-released after 25 years

The superhit Hollywood film Shawshank Redemption will be released in theaters once again. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman starrer film was released in 1994. On completion of 25 years of release, it is once again being brought into theaters. The Shawshank Redemption is the IMDB’s top rated movie of all time.

The 7 time Oscar nominated film will be released in select theaters in the US on September 22, 24 and 25. On this special occasion, there is also preparation to show some exclusive glimpses during the shooting of the film.

When the film was released in 1994, it made a splash at the box office. The film had grossed over $ 16 million in its opening shows. Also, in a few days, fan followings of the actors featured in this film had increased very fast.

The story of the film is of a prisoner who despite being innocent, reaches jail. There he meets another prisoner. And both become friends for ages. Andy is an investment banker who is proven to be falsely accused of killing his wife and goes to jail. Both Andy and his friend are serving life sentences. In the film, exploitation, crime and corruption are depicted beautifully inside the prison, which are faced by the inmates everyday. Andy escapes from jail later. His old friend also comes out of jail.

Shawshank redemption is considered one of the best films made on prison life. The fans of this film are all over the world and IMDB has still placed the film at number one in terms of popularity.
