International Yoga Festival 2020 begins in Rishikesh

The International Yoga Festival began on Sunday in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand in which yogacharyas, teachers and yoga lovers from 11 countries and nine states are taking part. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath jointly inaugurated the lamp by lighting a seven-day yoga festival at the Ganga Resort in Muni ki Reti. According to a government release issued here, Rawat said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a pivotal role in bringing Yoga to worldwide recognition. He said that the government has worked extensively to make Uttarakhand the center of yoga and Rishikesh as the focal point of Vishwa Yoga and now efforts are being made to link yoga with tourism.

Rawat said that the work of attracting tourists through spiritual yoga is being done. Describing yoga as essential for world health and well-being, Rawat said that the need is beginning to be felt by the whole world today, the result of which is that wherever yoga is beginning in the world, yoga teachers of Uttarakhand are the top priority and being called respectfully. On this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that as a result of sage tradition and practice in India, yoga has been uplifted for the welfare of the living beings. He said that it has been the untiring effort of the Prime Minister of India to bring the spirituality and sacred knowledge like yoga to every corner of the world and become the world guru of yoga. UP CM Adityanath appreciated the Prime Minister’s Clean India and said that if yoga is adopted with cleanliness, then many diseases can be gotten rid of. He said that physical, mental strength and immunity can be increased through clean body and yoga in the body. He said that when any country of the world joins the Yoga tradition, it connects with the intimacy of India and this thing makes the country proud. On this occasion, he also spoke about supporting Uttarakhand government in Haridwar Kumbh to be held in the year 2021.
