Chardham Yatra 2022: Doors of Kedarnath Dham open; thousands of devotees present

The doors of Lord Kedarnath Dham included in the twelve Jyotirlingas were opened at 6:25 am on Friday, May 6. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present during this. The temple has been beautifully decorated with lighting along with ten quintals of flowers. For darshan on the first day, more than 15 thousand pilgrims have reached Kedarnath Dham and Yatra stops.

On Friday, at 6.25 am, the doors of Lord Kedarnath were opened for the devotees to see amidst the chants of Jai Kedar. The Panchmukhi idol of Baba was placed in the Kedar temple. The doors of the temple were opened under the rituals and religious traditions. The first puja was performed in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the same time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took the blessings of Baba Kedar by offering prayers.

 

According to Skanda Purana, Kedarnath is the well-known abode of Lord Shiva and is like a land of heaven. At the same time, it is mentioned in Kedarkhand that if someone travels to Badrinath region without seeing Lord Kedarnath, then their journey would be incomplete.

The lamp continues to burn in the temple for six months

Every year on Bhaiya Dooj, the doors of Kedarnath Dham are closed for six months. During this time no one lives in and around the temple, but it is said that the diya in the temple keeps burning continuously for six months after the doors are closed for winter.
