CM Dhami cabinet 2.0: Bageshwar gets cabinet minister after more than a decade
The new government has been sworn in in Uttarakhand and with this, Bageshwar district once again got a ministerial post after ten years. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took oath as Chief Minister on Wednesday afternoon and the name of four-time MLA from Bageshwar, Chandan Ram Das was also included in the 8 ministers who took oath with him. Earlier, Balwant Singh Bhoryal, who was MLA from Kapkot, was given important posts like health and secretariat administration in the cabinet ten years ago. Since then, the BJP supporters in the entire district were excited on the streets as the Bageshwar district, which has two assembly seats, now got ministerial posts.
Since Das defeated the Congress by a huge margin for the fourth time in a row, it was understood that this time the BJP would give him a ministerial post. Das also went to Delhi and met top leaders of the Center including Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and took blessings for the post of minister. Since coming from Delhi, Das was sure of getting a ministerial post this time, perhaps that is why he had called his wife, son, daughter and other family members to Dehradun on Tuesday itself and on Wednesday morning, BJP workers went to the party office to celebrate.
Bageshwar district had not duly got the post of minister for the last ten years. Although Sher Singh Gadiya, the former MLA of Kapkot, was entrusted with the responsibility of the Trivendra government at the last moment, but his post also ended as soon as Rawat left the Chief Minister’s post a few days later. Apart from this, the BJP MLA from Bageshwar, Late. Narayan Ram Das had been the Minister of State for Excise in UP.
Talking about the Congress rule, Ram Prasad Tamta was the Social Welfare Minister. At the same time, under the BJP rule, Kapkot MLA Balwant Singh Bhoryal also had departments like health as well as secretariat administration in the BJP government. But for the last ten years, Bageshwar district remained without a ministerial post in a way. Now after getting the ministerial post of Das, there is a huge wave of happiness in the district.
