Fresh spell of rains in Uttarakhand bring respite from rising temperatures
The weather changed its course in Uttarakhand on Wednesday afternoon. Due to the rain, the cold has increased in the hilly areas. Mussoorie city witnessed light sunshine on Wednesday morning, but in the afternoon the weather took a turn and it started raining. Along with this, a drop in temperature was recorded due to cold wind blowing in the plains. Light woolens were out again in the hills after a dip in temperature. In capital Dehradun it was a pleasant evening after intermittent rains in the afternoon.
Chances of light rain and hailstorm for three days
The Meteorological Center has indicated changes in the weather in the coming days. There is a possibility of light rain and hailstorm in the hilly areas especially Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued regarding light snowfall in areas with a height of more than 3500 meters.
According to Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, it may rain in the mountainous areas on March 15. On March 16, there is a possibility of light rain in the plains including Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. On March 17, light snowfall may occur in areas of altitude 3500 meters and above. There are chances of lightning and hailstorm along with thunder.
