Heavy rain alert in Uttarakhand from July 28 to 30

In Uttarakhand, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain from 28 July to 30 July. According to Meteorological Center, Dehradun, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in most parts of the state from 28 July to 30 July. A rain alert has also been issued from July 24 to July 27. According to this, light to moderate rainfall may occur at some places in Kumaon and Garhwal regions of Uttarakhand on July 24. Along with this, the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains has been expressed in some areas of Bageshwar as well as Pithoragarh in the disaster affected district.

According to the Meteorological Center, on July 25, light to moderate rain may occur in all the 13 districts of the state. On 26 July and 27 July, there is a possibility of rain in all the districts of Uttarakhand. On 27 July, there is an alert of heavy rains in Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. With this, there is a possibility of celestial lightning in these five districts on 27 July.

Director of Meteorological Center, Dehradun, Vikram Singh informed that at present, light to moderate rains are likely to occur in the state from July 24 to July 27, although heavy rains may occur at some places. According to Vikram Singh, there is a possibility of heavy to heavy rains in the state from 28 July to 30 July. This forecast has been issued for most parts of Garhwal and Kumaon.

All on alert

In view of the meteorological department’s alert, complete preparations have been made at the government and administration level. District officials, disaster management department, revenue department officials, police, SDRF, NDRF, ITBP have been put on high alert. Drinking water, PWD, electricity, water institute, food department, forest department and health department have also been put on alert. Keeping in view the possibility of heavy rains in the state, the situation is being monitored.
