Night Curfew imposed in Uttarakhand

Reeling under the second wave of Corona, the Uttarakhand government has imposed a night time curfew in the entire state. It will be from 10.30 in the night to five in the morning. From Friday, all public transport buses, Vikram autos, rickshaws will run with 50 percent capacity. Along with this, cinema hall, restaurant, bar and gym will also be operated with half capacity. All coaching institutes, swimming pools and spas have been completely closed across the state.

Chief Secretary Omprakash released the new SOP on Thursday evening. A maximum of 200 people will be allowed to participate in all religious, political and social events. It is known that the same standards were in place even before the first wave of Corona became normal. During the unlock, the government slowly started normalizing everything. The Chief Secretary said that the movement of people will be completely restricted during the curfew. There is a provision of some concession in some categories. Till now night curfew was applicable only in Dehradun Municipal Corporation area.

Operating at 50 percent capacity

-Public vehicles, buses, autos, Vikram, rickshaws etc.
– Cinema halls, restaurants, bars, and gyms

100 percent restriction:

Coaching Institute, Swimming Pool & Spa

They will be exempt from night curfew

– Employees working in night shifts of industries
– Movement of people and goods in emergencies on national and state routes
– People employed in traveling and moving goods
– People going to their homes after traveling by bus, train, plane
Banquet halls of marriage and related ceremonies, people related to wedding ceremonies and movement of vehicles will be exempted within the stipulated time.

Mask neccessary, no relaxation in social distancing

The Chief Secretary said that residents and tourists in all districts must compulsorily follow the Covid 19 protocols in public spaces, offices. Masks must be strictly adhered to social distance. People over 65 years of age, seriously ill people, pregnant women and children under 10 years of age should go out of the house only when it is absolutely necessary.

This decision has been taken to stop the continuous increase in infection of Covid 19 in the state. The new SOP will remain in force until further orders. The new standards will come into effect from tomorrow, Friday. The restrictions previously applicable to the Kumbh Mela area will remain unchanged. Violation of orders will be taken under the Pandemic Act.
