US Presidential Elections 2020: Joe Biden inches closer to victory

Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden has come very close to victory in the US presidential election. Biden has overtaken Donald Trump in Georgia. This is the first time since 1992 that the Democratic nominee for presidential elections in the Republican stronghold has received such support. Biden now longer needs to win a single state from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada or North Carolina where he is leading, and he will win the majority needed to become president of the world’s most powerful country.

According to the latest results, Biden is ahead of Trump by 917 votes in Georgia. The former vice-president was trailing here from the night of the election, but Trump has lost the edge now. Who will win in this state, it is too early to say because thousands of votes are yet to be counted. The votes of soldiers stationed in other countries have not yet been counted.

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has claimed that if only the ‘valid votes’ had been counted, he would have easily won the US presidential election. Addressing a press conference at the White House, Trump indicated that the outcome of the US presidential election would ultimately be decided in the Supreme Court as he planned to file a large-scale suit against the alleged rigging in the election.

Trump did not answer a journalist’s question at a press conference, but alleged that the Democratic Party riggedly wanted to win the 2020 presidential election. However, he did not present any evidence to support his claim. Trump said, “If valid votes are counted, I will win easily.”

“If you count illegal votes, they can try to snatch victory from the US,” he said. Trump’s message came when the difference of votes between him and Joe Biden during the count in the states of Georgia and Pennsylvaniacame down.
