Global Happiness Index 2024: Finland again becomes the happiest country in the world

Like every year, the Global Happiness Index released a list of Happiness Index on Wednesday this year, which includes 143 countries. India is at 126th position in this list. Whereas Finland has emerged as the happiest country in the world for the 7th consecutive time. Apart from this, Denmark, Iceland and Israel are also included in the top-10.

In fact, Finland has become the happiest country in the world by being at the top in the Global Happiness Index Report 2024. This is the seventh consecutive year that Finland has occupied the top position in the list.

Whereas, the top-10 countries include Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Australia. In the World Happiness Report, Afghanistan has been placed at the lowest position in the list of total 143 countries.

In a report released on Wednesday on the occasion of International Happiness Day of the United Nations, it was said that India is at 126th position in this list after countries like Libya, Iraq, Palestine and Niger. The World Happiness Report has been prepared in partnership with Gallup, Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and WHR.

Basis of World Happiness Ranking

Many core values have been included in the preparation of this report of the United Nations. These mainly include the following:

  • GDP per capita along with self-assessment of life satisfaction of individuals
  • Social support
  • Healthy life expectancy
  • Freedom
  • Kindness
  • Corruption.
