IIT Delhi gets record placements amidst corona slowdown

Despite the economic slowdown due to the Covid-19 lockdown and the withdrawal of job offers by many companies, the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi broke the previous years record in campus placements. According to officials, students graduating from the institute received more than 1100 offers from national and international organizations, including pre-placement offers.

S Dharmaraja, Head of Office of Career Services, said, “Job placement at IIT Delhi has broken all previous records. This year it was found that the placement offer increased by four per cent. 85.6 percent of undergraduate and postgraduate students sought placement services of the institute and got the job. “

He said, “The rest of the students chose other options like higher studies, research, civil service exams, startups and they got the job done through their contacts and efforts.”

IITs had to re-organize the second phase of their placement campaign earlier as many companies had canceled their offers. During this pandemic, the second phase of placement continued in the online mode and about 100 students got job offers.
