State sends proposal to Center for Dehradun-Ramnagar train connectivity

The Uttarakhand government has sent a proposal to start rail service between Ramnagar and Dehradun to the central government. Transport Minister Chandan Ramdas gave this important information. On behalf of the Uttarakhand government, a proposal has been sent to the central government three times in this regard.

MLA Cheema had raised a question in the assembly that there is no direct train service from Ramnagar for the people of Kumaon division to come to the capital Dehradun. In such a situation, common people take a lot of time to reach Dehradun and they are dependent only on road transport. Along with this, a lot of money has to be spent on coming by car and taxi etc.

He had asked whether the state government had taken any initiative in this regard. In response to this, Transport Minister Chandan Ramdas said that the proposal has been sent to the Central Government thrice so far by the State Government. . However, this proposal has not yet been approved.
