Kumbh mela to continue as scheduled till April 30

The official period of Haridwar Kumbh will remain till April 30. Considering the dangers of the Covid infection, the government has dismissed speculation of an early closure of the fair. On the other hand, the force’s withdrawal will also begin in a day or two due to reduced crowd.

Baisakhi festival, the most important occassion of Haridwar Kumbh 2021, has concluded on Wednesday. With this, discussions had begun that the government might conclude the Kumbh Mela ahead of time. However, no such preparations are yet to be seen in the nodal department and the urban department.

Secretary Urban Development Shailesh Bagouli has clarified that the fair period is till April 30. There is no proposal from the department level to reduce it. According to sources, the government will take a final decision on this in view of the pace of Covid infection in the coming days.

For this reason, the withdrawal of the force will begin in a couple of days. He said that till April 30, only half the force, including the central forces, will remain in Haridwar, the remaining forces will return.
