Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP declares candidates for Haridwar & Pauri seats

BJP has announced the names of candidates for Haridwar and Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seats. This time the BJP has expressed confidence in new faces instead of the MPs who won in 2019. Former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has been given the ticket for Haridwar Lok Sabha seat, leaving Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank out of the race. Similarly, Anil Baluni has been given the ticket from Garhwal by not expressing confidence in Tirath Singh Rawat. On three Lok Sabha seats, BJP has expressed confidence in old faces, whereas in the second list, the party has given priority to new faces by instead of sitting MPs on two Lok Sabha seats.

Anil Baluni has worked as a Rajya Sabha MP and holds a lot of influence in the party high command Similarly, in Haridwar, BJP has surprisingly canceled the ticket of Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ another former CM of the state and has given ticket to Trivendra Singh Rawat in his place. It is said that there was a lot of factionalism regarding the name of Nishank.
