Haridwar: Seven-Year-Old’s death linked to Blood Cancer, not suspicious drowning

A seven-year-old innocent child of a Delhi family did not die due to drowning in the Ganga, but due to lack of blood. Due to blood cancer, there was severe anemia in the child’s body. This has been revealed in the post mortem report. After conducting the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the family members. After interrogation, the child’s parents and aunt were also released.

On Wednesday, the seven-year-old son of Rajkumar Saini, resident of Delhi, died under suspicious circumstances at Har ki Pauri, Haridwar. During interrogation, the father told the police that his son was suffering from blood cancer. When he was taken to Delhi AIIMS four days ago, the doctors advised him to be taken home. After this he brought him to take a dip in the Ganges, hoping that the innocent child would be cured by bathing in the Ganges.

People had created an uproar after seeing an unconscious child being taken for a dip in the Ganges at Har ki Pauri. People had accused the family of murdering the child by drowning. Its video also went viral on social media.

The post-mortem of the child’s body was conducted late on Wednesday evening in the presence of doctors. According to the police, the post-mortem report revealed that the child died due to anemia due to blood cancer. Kotwali in-charge Kundan Singh Rana said that after interrogation, the child’s parents and aunt were allowed to go.

Family hoped for a miracle

The post mortem report confirmed that the child had already died due to anemia due to illness. It was told that the child had died in the car while being brought to Haridwar. The parents and aunts of the child kept taking a dip in the Ganges at Har ki Pauri Brahmakund in the hope that some miracle would happen and the child would come back to life. Seeing this, people assumed that the child had been killed by drowning, but it was not so.
