Cleanliness ranking 2023: Dehradun at 68th spot; Haridwar’s ranking improved
The Government of India has declared the results of the Cleanliness Survey 2023. Indore and Surat have become the cleanest cities of the country in the Cleanliness Survey 2023. Whereas, if we talk about Uttarakhand, Dehradun city has been ranked 68th in the cleanliness survey 2023. Haridwar stood at number 176 in this list. In the Cleanliness Survey 2023, Roorkee was ranked 180, Haldwani 211, Rishikesh 304, Kotdwar 348, Rudrapur 417.
The results of the National Sanitation Survey 2023 were announced yesterday. In which Haridwar stood at 176th position among 444 municipal corporations. Earlier in 2022, Haridwar was at 336th position in this list. Along with improvement in the national survey, Haridwar has also improved its performance in the state list by 6 points. Haridwar stood second in the survey among the 11 municipal corporations of the state, whereas last year Haridwar was at eighth position. Along with this, Haridwar has also performed better by improving in the Water Plus category. In this category, cities are assessed on the basis of pollution and cleanliness on the river banks.
Departmental Minister Dr. Premchand Aggarwal said that Municipal Corporation Dehradun has got the first prize as Clean City in the category of Municipal Corporation of the state, while it has got 68th rank in North Zone. Dr Aggarwal said that in the cleanliness survey 2022, Municipal Corporation Dehradun had got 69th rank in North Zone. This year Municipal Corporation Dehradun has improved its rank. Municipal Council Munikireti-Dhalwala has got the first position as Clean City in the category of Municipalities of the state. Last year also Municipality Munikireti had received the first prize.
