Over 1000 IT firms file lawsuit against US Immigration Agency over H1-B visa

A group of more than one thousand firms & companies of Information Technology Sector (IT) have filed lawsuit against the US Immigration Agency. This lawsuit has been done for issuing H-1B visas for less than three years. This is affecting the work of companies.

There are more than a thousand companies in this group of IT companies, most of whom are from Indian origin. H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa issued to foreign workers who work in American companies. Companies call on workers from countries like India and China on this basis.

The right to reduce the visa duration

The IT group has said in the lawsuit that the immigration agency does not have the right to misinterpret the existing regulations and reduce the duration of the visa. This is the second case of ITServe against the US Immigration Agency. The first case was filed in July this year. At the same time, in August this year, the Trump Administration had said that there was no change in the H-1B visa process. It is being decided that no one will be harmed under it.

43 page lawsuit

ITServe Alliance, based in Dallas, Texas, claimed in the 43rd page of the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) that a H1-B visa of less than three years is being issued. Generally this visa period is for 3 to 6 years for foreign workers.
