Calls for separation grow stronger in Spain

Calls for Catalonia seeking separation from Spain are growing stronger by the day. During this time, violence has erupted these days. There was a protest on Wednesday night against the sentencing of 9 to 13 years of pro-Catalonia separatist leaders. 80 people including 46 police officers have been injured in this protest. A statement from the Spanish Prime Minister’s Office said that 33 people have been arrested during this period.

What is the whole matter

Spain’s Supreme Court on Monday sentenced nine pro-separatist leaders from 9 to 13 years sentence. It also includes the former Vice President of Catalan. They were blamed for instigating major conflicts in Catalonia. Catalonia is like an Autonomous region of Spain and the people of this region have been fighting for their independence here for a long time.
