RCB win last ball thriller against DC

For the first time in IPL history, two matches were played at the same time where Bangalore beat Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets while Mumbai beat Hyderabad by 42 runs. Both Mumbai and Hyderabad have been out of the race for the IPL playoffs.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), the match between RCB and Delhi reached their peak of thrill at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday, Bangalore wicketkeeper Kona Srikar Bharat snatched the final victory from Delhi by hitting a six off the last ball. And if this match is termed as one of the most exciting matches in IPL 2021, then perhaps it will not be wrong. Chasing the target of 165 runs to win from Delhi, Bangalore had a very poor start. And when Virat and Padikkal returned to the pavilion before the end of the third over, the fans of RCB were left disappointed.

But in difficult circumstances, wicketkeeper KS. Bharat (78 not out) and Glenn Maxwell (51 not out) together took Delhi out of the match. But the big hero of the competition was KS. Bharat. At one point Bangalore needed 19 runs to win in the last two overs and when Nortje conceded just 4 runs in the 19th over, it seemed Delhi had won. This is where the index of excitement started going up and down.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli said the victory against IPL points table top Delhi Capitals was an incredible win with nothing to lose. Chasing a target of 165, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match by scoring 166 for three with brilliant half-centuries from Srikar Bharat (78 not out) and Glenn Maxwell (51 not out). Both of them took full advantage of the poor fielding of Delhi Capitals to win the team on the last ball. Now RCB will face Kolkata Knight Riders in the playoffs. Virat Kohli and RCB have a golden chance to become IPL champions for the first time.

When Bangalore had to score six runs to win on the last ball, then Avesh Khan threw lost control of his line resulting in a wide. With five needed of the last ball Bharat hit a full toss on middle stump sailing out of the ground to register a memorable win for RCB.

After the match, Kohli said, “Unbelievable. It was a match in which we had nothing to lose but still it is good to win against the team running at the top of the table despite losing early wickets. We have defeated them twice this season.” He praised Bharat and Maxwell and said, “The way de Villiers and Srikar Bharat batted first was good. And then the partnership between Maxi and KS was great.”
