UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2020 date postponed

UPSC has postponed the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2020. The examination was scheduled to take place on 31 May, but the exam has been postponed due to the third phase of lockdown. The new exam date will be announced on 20 May.

The Union Public Service Commission says that the new date of the examination will be announced on May 20 after taking stock of the situation. It is worth noting that at present, the third phase of lockdown is going on in the country to prevent the coronavirus, which is till May 17. Earlier the second phase of lockdown was till May 3, which has been extended to 17 May.

The admit card for UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Examination was to be released earlier this week, but now this exam has been postponed. The date of issuing the admit card will be announced after announcing the date for the Pre exam. UPSC said that several candidates who appeared for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination had requested the Commission to postpone the examination.

These candidates had requested to postpone the examination due to lockdown and coronavirus. Earlier Union Minister Jitendra Singh had assured the candidates that while re-scheduling the exam, the candidates would be given enough time, so that they do not face any problem in reaching the examination center.
