Passenger plane in China with over 130 onboard crashes

There has been a major plane crash in China. As per reports a Boeing 737 aircraft has crashed. A total of 133 passengers were on board the ill-fated flight at the time of the accident. According to Chinese media, the accident happened in the South China Sea. As of now, the information about how many people died or how many were injured in the accident has not been revealed.

According to local media – China Eastern Flight MU5735 did not reach its destination in Guangzhou after taking off from Kunming city after 1 pm on Monday, citing airport staff. The rescue team has reached the spot.

According to Chinese media, the MU 5735 plane took off from Changshui Airport in Kunming city in Yunnan province of southwest China. It was supposed to reach Guangzhou in Guangdong province by 3 o’clock, but the accident happened before that. A fire broke out in the area where the accident happened.

In such a situation, it is believed that the number of deaths in the accident will be high. The plane that fell victim to the accident was only six and a half years old. It was taken over by the airlines in June 2015. MU 5735 had a total of 162 seats, of which 12 were business and 150 were economy class.

According to the Aviation Safety Network, the last time such a major accident happened in China was in 2010. When the Embraer E-190 crashed. There were 96 people on board, out of which 44 died.
