Ales Bialiatski, Russia and Ukraine rights group win Nobel Peace Prize 2022

Ales Bialiatski of Belarus, Ukraine human rights organisation Center for Civil Liberties and Russia human rights organisation Memorial  have received the Nobel Peace Prize. Earlier on Thursday, the French writer was awarded the Nobel in the field of literature. This award was first introduced in 1901.

The week of the announcement of the Nobel Prizes 2022 began on Monday with the award of the Nobel Prize in Medicine to the scientist who uncovered the mysteries of Neanderthal DNA. Three scientists jointly won the Physics Prize on Tuesday for their discovery that tiny particles can maintain a relationship with each other even when separated. This year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded on Wednesday to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and K. Barry Sharpless for developing a method of ‘fissioning together molecules’ into equal parts.
