The Bureau of Meteorology had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for inland areas on Sunday evening with severe dusty clouds, due to which people had already moved to safer places.
The bureau said that the speed of dusty thunderstorms in the Parks area was 94 km / h whereas in Dubbo, the speed of 107 km / h was recorded at 7.45 pm. Due to this dusty storm, the State Emergency Service received a total of 1453 calls for assistance from Sunday morning, in which more than one thousand calls were only to help damage to buildings and homes.
