PM Modi-President Trump have discussion over G-7

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Trump spoke over the phone on Tuesday. Several important issues were discussed between the two leaders, including the India-China border dispute and the G-7. Trump invited Modi to attend the next G-7 summit.

PM Modi tweeted, “Had a warm and productive conversation with my friend President @realDonaldTrump. We discussed his plans for the US Presidency of G-7, the COVID-19 pandemic, and many other issues. “

Trump also discussed with PM about the tensions that arose between China and the Indian Army in eastern Ladakh last month. Trump had offered arbitration in the case. However, both India and China had talked about resolving the issue through mutual talks.Both leaders spoke for the first time after offering to mediate on the matter.

What is G7?

The G-7 is a group of countries with seven large economies. This includes France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the United States. It is also called the Group of Seven. All these countries meet every year to discuss matters of mutual interest.
