PM Modi’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping lasts for over 2 hours

A two-day informal dialogue was started between Chinese Prime Minister Narendra Modi and China’s President Xi Jinping on Friday in the Chinese city of Wuhan. Modi arrived at the Hubei Provincial Museum at 3.30 pm, according to China time and warmly joined hands with XiJinping.

This is a unique encounter between Modi and Jinping in Wuhan city of China, which is a sign of the new beginning of bilateral relations. The war of 1962 between India and China was fought. In this way there has been a long history of mutual distrust between the two countries. In the year 2017, the situation was very deteriorating between the two countries regarding the Doklam controversy.
According to the news agency ANI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted two paintings to Xi Jinping, which Chinese painter Xu Behong made during his stay in Shantiniketan between 1939-40. There was a delegation level discussion between PM Modi and Xi Jinping. In this meeting, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale and Ambassador of India , Gautam Bambawlay, took part in the meeting with other diplomats. China’s Ambassador Luo Zhaohui participated in the delegation of Xi Jinping, Political Bureau member Yang Jiechi and other officials.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that such informal meet-ups and summits should be organized as a tradition between the two countries. I would be happy if this kind of informal summit is organized in India in 2019. After the high level talks, PM Modi said that India and China can play an important role for world peace. PM Modi said that both the countries are ready to work together. He said that New India and New Era’s efforts are in the best interests of the world as 40% of the world’s population lives in these two countries. PM Modi said that India and China together can get rid many problems faced by the world.
