Exit Polls predict BJP returning to power in UP, close contest in Uttarakhand
As per majority of the exit poll predictions, Uttar Pradesh is ready to hand over power to the BJP for the second time in a row, breaking the nearly three-decade-old political tradition. On the other hand, sweeping everyone’s hopes, the Aam Aadmi Party can come to power in Punjab. As soon as the polling for the seventh and last phase in Uttar Pradesh was over on Monday, exit polls for five states revealed which party could come to power. In Uttarakhand, there seems to be a close contest between the BJP-Congress. However, it is expected that the BJP may have the last laugh. In Goa, most exit polls are predicting hung results and in Manipur the BJP seems to be ahead of the Congress.

In true sense, in this election, all eyes are on the country’s largest state, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, which has become the center of the farmers’ movement to internal fighting. For the third time in a row in politically important Uttar Pradesh, there was a new experiment in the opposition camp. From Covid to the farmers’ movement, Uttar Pradesh was also made a political arena. However, according to the exit polls released after seven phases, the opposition tactics did not work.
