CM Rawat inaugurates online services for driving license

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated a new online service for learning driving licences at a function held in the capital.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said increasing road fatalities had become a matter of serious concern as they were a drain on the society and the country. He said there was a need to open driving centres in every part of the state.

The Chief Minister further said it was the duty of the driver to ensure their as well as others’ safety. He said the technology was being used to facilitate the general public, but there was a need to evaluate these schemes periodically to see whether they were useful for the masses.

He said it was his endeavour to provide best facilities through the state Transport Department to commuters. He appreciated that of late the state transport department had been doing a good job. Senior officials of the Transport Department and some legislators were also present on the occasion.
