Oil PSU’s to allot 65000 new petrol pump licenses ahead of Lok Sabha Polls 2019

Prior to the general elections next year, public sector oil companies have decided to allocate nearly 65,000 new petrol-diesel refilling stations across the country. Among these, the locations of the states going through the assembly elections are not included at present.

This time, 10th pass will also be able to apply for petrol pump. Earlier, 12th pass could apply for the petrol pump. This time only online applications will be accepted. An official said that after the introduction of so many new refilling stations, the number of petrol pump in the country will almost double. Companies have said that norms for these petrol-diesel refilling stations have been relaxed this time in terms of allocation.

According to the tender, the only compulsory condition for the applicants after relaxation in educational qualification is that they should have their land to set up the pump. IOC, BPCL and HPCL issued a tender on Sunday to allocate 55,649 new petrol pumps.
Vishal Bajpayee, sate level co-ordinator of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) said that currently assembly election process is going on in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Mizoram. Hence the tender for the location of these states will be released later. In these states, government oil companies have plans to open about 10,000 petrol pumps.

New pumps to be opened in these states

Haryana, Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Orissa, Puducherry, Punjab, Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat & Himachal. New petrol pumps will also open in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

How to apply for Petrol Pump License

To become HPCL retail outlet dealer you must go on www.petrolpumpdealerchayan.in website. With online payment of application fee, you can apply for Retail Outlet Dealership by December 24, 2018. The online application form will be terminated immediately after the cut off of the last date for submission.

Who can open petrol pump in India

You must be an Indian citizen to become a petrol pump owner. Also, you should be between 21 and 60 years of age and education till atleast 10th standard must be completed.

How to open petrol diesel pumps in India

Oil companies open petrol pumps according to their requirement. In whatever area the company has to open the petrol pump, the advertisement is issued in the newspaper. It mentions all the rules, conditions. Any person completing these rules can apply online for the dealership on the respective company’s website. After this, the company officials observe. Petroleum Ministry can ban petrol pump opening.
