Bomb threat on Mumbai-Doon Jet Airways flight

Dehradun: A bomb threat was reported on a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Dehradun on Tuesday afternoon at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. However, the scare later turned out to be hoax.

As per officials, there were 148 passengers and nine crew members on board Jet Airways flight 9W307, which took off from Mumbai at 11.45 am and landed at the Jolly Grant airport around 3.45 pm after a 50 minute halt at Delhi. The flight was halted for over three hours at the airport due to a security threat.

Dehradun senior superintendent of police, Sadanand Date told TOI, “We received a call from airport officials that they got information from Chandigarh regarding a bomb threat in one of the Jet Airways flights. We immediately sent the bomb disposal squad and a police team to the airport.”

“All 148 passengers and nine crew members were offloaded immediately and their luggage was taken out and searched jointly by the bomb disposal squad and CISF personnel. However, nothing was found in the plane,” Date added. The plane landed at the airport around 3.45 pm and the pilots were immediately asked to stop on the runway.
