Docoss X1: Rs 888 smartphone

Jaipur-based Docoss has announced an Android-powered smartphone priced at Rs 888. Called Docoss X1, the smartphone has made a silent entry, unlike Freedom 251’s launch which was a grand affair.
Docoss X1 claims to be a 4-inch Android smartphone with 1GB RAM with 4GB storage (32GB expandable), a dual-core processor, Android 4.4 KitKat, a 2 megapixel camera and a 0.2 megapixel front camera. The battery is 1300 mAh.
The company had opened bookings on its website http://www.docoss.com, and said that registrations would close on April 29. It claims that deliveries will start on May 2. Given the Rs 888 price tag, and the interest it has generated, the website has crashed.
The Docoss’ website asks buyers to book the smartphone via an SMS. Even a real photograph of the phone is missing. On its social media platforms, the company has requested buyers not to make calls on the number given for SMS. There is also very little information about the company on the website.
