382 cadets join Indian Army after passing out parade from IMA

A passing out parade was organized at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun. On Saturday, Lt Gen Cherish Mathson, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command, took salute as a reviewing officer parade. This time 459 Gentlemen Cadets were part of Parade. Of these, 382 young officers will join the Indian Army. While 77 young military officers were an integral part of the nine friendly countries of Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Fiji, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Lesotho and Tajikistan.

The Parade on Drill Square was held from 6.30 in the morning in front of the historic Chetwood House of IMA. Ceremonies will be organized at the Somnath Stadium after Parade. With this passing-out parade, the honorable name of the prestigious Indian Military Academy will add to the honor of giving 61 thousand 685 young military officers to the country and abroad. These include 2342 military officers of the allied forces. Given the passing out parade, the security system around the academy was strengthened. Armed army personnel deployed on the entrances of the academy with the responsibility of security. While the police had the responsibility of security in the outskirts of the academy complex. Only pass holders are allowed to enter the academy premises.

During the passing out parade, there was zero zone from Panditwadi to Premnagar from 5 am to 11 am on Saturday morning. Traffic that passes through National Highway-72 (Chakrata Road) was completely diverted from Premnagar and Ballupur till noon.
