Speculations rife as CM Rawat joins BJP leaders in Delhi for high profile meeting

Due to the displeasure of many ministers and MLAs of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s helm as head of the state has come under threat. These party MLAs alleged that if the CM face is not changed then the party may have to suffer a huge loss in the next year’s assembly elections.

There is a discussion that the party may hand over the chief minister’s chair to a new face in the state. Amid political agitation, CM Rawat left for Delhi on Monday. Rawat was scheduled to go to Gairsain, the summer capital of the state, on Monday, but canceled his tour and reached Delhi.

He met party president JP Nadda in the afternoon. He will also meet Home Minister Amit Shah and party’s Organization General Secretary BL Santosh. Meanwhile, an important meeting is going on between Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah. It also includes Organization General Secretary Santosh. Probably after this meeting, the three will meet PM Narendra Modi regarding Uttarakhand CM and by late night a decision can be taken about the change of leadership in the state.

Meanwhile, in the race of CM, the names of two state ministers Dhan Singh Rawat and Satpal Maharaj are being mentioned at the forefront. At the same time, the discussion is that if either of the two names is not agreed, then one of Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni can be handed over the reins of the state.

Party sent observer two days ago

The BJP on Saturday sent National Vice President Raman Singh, General Secretary and in-charge of the state Dushyant Gautam to Uttarakhand as Observer. On Sunday, the two had a meeting with four state MPs and 45 MLAs. Singh and Gautam returned to Delhi on Sunday. On Monday, they also submitted a report to party president JP Nadda on the latest political situation in the state.

Sources said that the two observers sent by the BJP leadership in Dehradun on Saturday last had a separate meeting with several MLAs. During this, the MLAs said that there can be losses if they contest elections under the leadership of the current Chief Minister. Public representatives are not being heard due to the dominance of bureaucracy in the government. Due to which there is resentment in public

The special thing is that the state education minister Arvind Pandey and many MLAs have been camping in Delhi for the last two days. The issue of Uttarakhand is also likely to be discussed in the meeting of BJP’s parliamentary board in Delhi on March 9. According to sources, 4 ministers and a dozen MLAs from Uttarakhand are present in Delhi.

Damage control efforts started

In Uttarakhand, a BJP leader told the news agency that elections are due next year in 2022. Due to the displeasure of many MLAs, contesting elections under the leadership of the current Chief Minister is not considered to be empty of danger. However, the party leadership is definitely trying to control the damage by convincing the MLAs. The BJP leadership has to decide further on the Observer’s report. If the face does not change, a big reshuffle in the cabinet is likely.
